Died Suddenly In Church

Des Moines, Iowa, March 3.- The Hon. James C. Jordán, a pioneer of the county, died suddenly while attending dedicatory services at a new Methodist church in his township, during the delivery of the sermón by Bishop Newman. The bishop in his discourse said: "The people of this community have erected a house dedicated to God; not a theatre, concert hall, or place o L amusement." To this Mr. Jordán responded with emphasis: "No, nor a saloon." There was a fervent response of "amen" from the clergy, and at that instant Mr. Jordán sank in his seat and expired."
