[.OFFICIAL.] Council Chamber, March 16, 1891. Regular meeting. Called to orde by Clêrk Bach. Roll cali. Present - Aid. Dieterle, Mann Martin, Herz, Snow, Walker, Miller O'Mara, Spafford, Taylor, A. F Martin, Hall. Absent - President Howlett. Aid. Spafïord moved that Aid Miller act as president pro tem. for the evening. Carried. Minutes of previous meeting reac and approved. To tlie Common Council: The Board of Public Works would respectfully recornmend that a sidewalk be ordered built on the east side of Fifth street, from Jefferson to Liberty street. By order of the Board of Public Works. Jas. R. Bach, Clerk. Received and referred to the sidewalk committee. To the Common Council: Your committee on sidewalks, to whom was referred the recommendations of the Board of Public Works, would respectfully recommend the following sidewalks be ordered built: On the east side of Traver street, from Brown to Plum streets. On the east and west sides of Fifth street, from Jefferson to Madison streets. And on the east side of Packard street, in front of the property of Mrs. Hallock. On the south of W. Catherine street, in front of the property of Jas. Kitson estáte. On the east side of Spring street, in front of the property of Anton Eisele estáte : Respectfnlly submitted, E. Walker, A. F. Martin, W. G. Deiterle, O. C. Spafford, C. Martin, Sidewalk Committee. Aid. Martin moved that the report be accepted and adopted. Aid. Taylor moved as an amendment, that the sidewalk on Traver street be built from Brown street north to the northlineof Eli Manly's place. Carried. The report as amended, carried. LICENSE COMMITTEE. To ite Cornnwn Council. Your committee on license, to whom was referred the petition asking to establish license system for the protection of teamsters, would state that they have had the matter under consideration, and that they do not approve of such license. Respectfully submitted. W. G. Deitërle, A. F. Wartin, Walter L. Taylor, Committee. Aid Mann moved that the report be accepted and adopted. Carried. T the Common Council: I herewith submit my annual report for the year ending March i, 1891: The actual amount of cash paid out for expenses from March i, 1890, to March 1, 1891, was as follows: All of which is respeetfully submitted. W. W. Watts, City Treasurer. Ann ArboR, Mich., Mareta 16, 1891. Aid. O'Mara moved that the report be spread upon the journal. Carried. By Aid. Hall: Resolved, That a committee of three be appointed to act with the Board of Public Works in regard to the Nowland matter. Carried. Aid. O'Mara, Walken, Deiterle, committee: By Aid. Hall: Resolved, That a committee be appointed to confer with the hospital authorities in regard to establishing several free beds at the hospital, for the use of such city patients as are entitled to the use thereof. Carried. Aid. Hall, Taylor, Herz, committee. By Aid. Martin: Resolved, That the Railroad Commissioner be requested to notify the T., A. A. & Northern railroad to abate the nuisance of blockading the streets which they cross in this city. Aid. Walker moved, as an amendment, that the city marshal or his deputies be instructed to arrest the trainmen every time the streets are blockaded. Carried. The resolution as amended, carried. Council then adjourned. City Clerk.
