Was That A Raindrop? It was, indeed, but that didn't stop the Ninth Annual Book Fair from proceeding today on the porch of the Ann Arbor Public Library. One of the highlights was a show of yesterday's fashions. The ladies shown checking the weather were part of that show. In the foreground, with hands extended, are Mary Thrall (left) and Linda Prieskorn. Behind them (left to right) are Claudia Klaudt, Nancy Adams and Gail Zill. Fair proceeds will be used to underwrite printing the book, "Ann Arbor Yesterdays," by Lela Duff.

Librarian Cain says if patrons will take out books now and keep them until the new library unit opens April 4, the task of moving will be made easier for her staff.

The library, located in the Maple Village Shopping Center, will mark its formal opening Sunday with an open house from 2 until 4 p.m. The program sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will feature music and refreshments and will be open to all. West Branch now has about 10,000 books, half of its projected collection. Over 300 books per day circulated during January and McGlynn said the volume is increasing.
