In Ann Arbor, on the llth inst. Hon. Charles Kellogg, in the 68th'ear of his age. As early as 1797, he bccame a resident of Cnyi'g.i county N. Y. soon after which he was made Jnstlce of Ihe Peace, which office he filled for mnny years. Four years he was a membcr of the N. Y. Legislatura, and fora considerable time an associate Judge in his counly. He was a member of the House of Representativos n thfi 1 9th Congress - a man of few words, modest and retirin? jn his manners, a safe and VaJuable counsellor, a man of sleTliiig integrity, honest and trust worthy in public and private business - an hurnbJe and devoted Cbristian. He was for nbout four ypars a resident of our villnge. In the death ofthis estimable man, we have lost a valuable citizen - the church one of its brightest ornnmenls - the ,widow a discreetly fond and indulpent husband - thechildren an afFection;:te and kind father. May the bereaved fanuly, and the community generally hear the voice of warrilng, and prepare for their exit lo the spirit world.
