Tlie Inst arrivals from Europe bring. . ome items of interest. The Ainetican rovision market is dull. The reduction t n the price of Irish Pork has impeded the sale of American. Of Butter from the United States there is none in the market. Cheese is in stëady' demnhd, and commands fair prices. Nevertheless, this branch of dotnmerce is steadily on the increase, and at no distaht day will forrn vlïï important clemdnt in the exports from Arnei'ica. The European Times says that "few ; things have given more general satisface tion in commercial circles than the intelligence which carne to hand, by the last ■ packet, that the State of Pennsylvania has paid the interest of its debt for the current six months. There is one re gret to mar the satisfaction - poor Sydney Smith is dead. The most important news is the new financia! scheme of Sir Robert Peele for reducing the duties on some articles, and abolishing alt duties on 430 enumerated The Boston Chronicle hafc the-' following extract from the scheule hy which it will be seen that the abolltiów of the duties will favorably affect the A-merican market: "Bark, Extract of, or of other vegetable substances, to be used only for tanningleather. Bladders. Bones, of caltleand other animáis, and of fish, (except whale fins,) whether burnt or not, or as an animal car bon. Candlewick. Cotton Yarrii Grease Öun Stocks, ín the rough, of wood. Hemp, dressed or undressed, or any othef substance applicable to the sameposes. FIoops, of wood. Lard. Lead Ore. Leacl - White, Red, Black, Chromate. Oils - Animal, Lard, Seed. Platting, orother manufactures tobeused in or proper for making bonnets or hats, of chip. Pitch. Rosin. Staves, not exceoding72 inches in length, 7 inches in breadth, nor 34 in thickness. Turpentine, not exceeding in valué 15. per cwt. Water - Mineral. Wood, for slnp building. Do. Walnut.Do. Birch, 3 feet long, imporled for the sole purpose of making herring barrels." The actual opening of ree trade by England, says the Chronicle, to so important a -western product as lard, will not bo without its influence on the tariff discussions of the next Congress. By encouraging the transfer of the whole corn erop into pork instead of whiskey, jt will indirectly aid the temp'erance cause. The export of staves wiñ begreatly increased, as they can be carried in the cotton ships as dunnage, and to fillup the waste storage. They will go both from New York and New Orleans, and will soon furnish an important item inports. The intelligence from China extends to 28ih of Nov. The Emperor was not then dead, but it is alledged that little hope of -his recovery was entertained. The report that the Emperor had abdicated in favor of a near relation, is totally without confirmation. Trade was dull in China. The French Ambassador had concluded the treaty, which was sent to Europe for ratification.
