The Mobile Daily Advertisera leading Whig Journal of the Southcloses an arlicle on "The Rjght Position," &c.,as follows : " We have said but little heretofore on this subject, because we have feit it to be one on which theSomh should scorn to argue. VVe have said this much now in consequence of the actionofour politica] friends in Massachusetts, and because we feel that it is high time the VVhigs of the North should be made to understand what webelieve to be theunalterable determination of the united Whigs of the South in this matter. We trust, too, tliat the Whig press of the Soutli will speak out, in bold, firm and manly terms, the fixed purpose of the party in view of all such proceedings as characterized the Whig Conventiori of Massachusetls. Give the Whigs of the jree j&lcs to understand that, Whigs as they are, and Whigs as we are, we cut loosefrom lhemforever, unless they abandon the Wilmot Proviso, and desisljrom all interf trence wilh the peculiar inslitulions of Ae South ; that on these terms, and on these alone, will wego with ihem in a Convention, or cooperalion wilh Ihem in any icay whatever. Let our Democratie friends do the same, and, unless the people of the North are lost .o a!l sense of justice, and insensible to the appeals of patrioüsm, they will yield their most unjust and unreasonable pretensions, nnd harmony be once more 'restored between the different sections of our commm country." How do the friends of Judge AlcLean expect to meet this imperative demandof their Southern brethren.
