"Ella Jo Baker Graduate Co-operative House is a spacious and welcoming 33-person co-op with a very high proportion of singles. Although Baker follows a graduate student theme, the house does allow for undergrads and non-students looking for a quiet and accessible cooperative home in a great location–a mere 10 minute walk from the Diag. Housemates enjoy spending time together, from belting out ABBA on the roof during karaoke, to movie nights, to going out dancing. The house has ample common spaces, including a TV room, a study room with a piano, and a beautiful roof deck that housemates enjoy in the warmer months. The front yard has a tire swing, fire pit, porch swing, and a pond with occasional ducks! Baker cooks whip up 5 delicious dinners a week for our household, with ample vegetarian and vegan options. Baker started out as two separate homes, as Mark VIII in 1961 and Pickerell House in 1965, and the house underwent a few name and culture changes before being renovated into a graduate-themed home in 2007."
