Michigan Citrus: Walter P. Bauer of 516 Soule Blvd. holds an orange he grew from the plant nearby. The smaller plant bears lemons. Bauer sent way for four citrus trees two years ago and had grown them in regular flower pots. In the summer he places them outside, later moving them into his house where they are kept near a window. Each plant produces a number of lemons or oranges.

Growing the Hard Way: This 80-foot-long row of petunias has set some sort of record at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bauer at 516 Soule Blvd. The plants suddenly appeared four years ago, growing in a narrow crack between the concrete driveway and the front sidewalk. The Bauers did not plant them and gave them little care but the sturdy flowers reappeared faithfully each year. Hundreds of bouquets have been picked from the row of flowers which seems to be prospering again this year.
