Angell Chapter Good Citizens Sarah Caswell Angell chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honored eight young women for outstanding citizenship qualities at an annual evening program Thursday. The girls chosen by their respective high schools are (left to right) Christine Lindauer, Chelsea High School; Susan Marie Randall, Manchester High School; Rebecca Stevenson, Whitmore Lake High School; Lindsey Kahler, Ann Arbor High School; Becky Ealy, Saline High School; Ann E. Sloan, University High School, and Sandra Hartman, Milan High School. Not pictured is Elaine Arbour of Dexter High School. The girls, selected on the basis of leadership, service, dependability and patriotism, will compete in the state competition. State winners will enter a national contest.

It was pretty hard not to notice something was happening in Ann Arbor last night. Ann Arbor High School observed homecoming. Evidence of plenty of hard work is shown in the pictures above. The floats, a feature of the traditional homecoming parade, drew much attention as they moved through the city's streets and during their display at Hollway Field. Below, the joy of Lindsey Kahler, 17, is obvious as she is crowned queen.
