Ypsilanti firemen Aaron H. Carson (left) and Howard P. Gragg have been recommended for promotion to the rank of fire lieutenant. Carson, a veteran of nearly nine years with the department, and Gragg, a fireman for the past seven years, earned the top grades among nine candidates who competed in a civil service examination. They are shown here examining an inhalator. Confirmation of the promotions is due in July, following a six months' probationary period.
