Members of the French Dukes and Continental boys drill teams of Elks Pratt Lodge No. 322, and the Al Toras girls drill team of Daisy Chain Temple 212, practice at the lodge at 220 Sunset for national Elks championship competition next week in Philadelphia. The three groups will leave by chartered bus at 5:30 p.m. tomorrow for the Pennsylvania city. They will compete with Elks drill teams from throughout the country for national honors and take part in a parade, returning to Ann Arbor on Wednesday. The French Dukes have won two national titles.

The convention was attended by about 5,000 delegates and their families.

Clearing of debt on the lodge building of the Elks Pratt Lodge No. 322 and Daisy Chain Temple No. 212 was celebrated yesterday in a mortgage-burning ceremony at the lodge, 220 Sunset Rd. The mortgage burning was conducted by Bertram V. Gregory, president of the Michigan State Association of Elks. Among other speakers were Sheriff Robert E. A. Lillie and Ann Arbor Police Chief Casper Enkemann.
