The school, located at Buhr Park on the city's southeast side, is one of two new elementaries to open for the second semester. The other is Lakewood on the city's western edge. The staff members are (men, left to right) LeRoy Cappaert, principal; Harwood Roland, custodian; David Aberdeen, sixth grade; and (women, left to right) Rose Wilson, first grade; Frances Winkelhaus, second grade; Chris Kramer, fourth grade; Peggy Meyers, secretary; Lenice Kipp, kindergarten; Florence Breitner, third grade; Blanche Shankland, second grade; and Marion Krausse, first grade. A recently hired fifth grade teacher, Mary Purcell, was not present for the picture.
