Remember When? A special corner of the Michigan League ballroom was set aside for the "Longtimers" of the club at the reception. Reminiscing at one point in the afternoon were (from left) Mrs. A. H. Lovell, Mrs. Fred S. Dunham, Mrs. Wells Bennett, Mrs. Walter E. Lay and Mrs. A. Franklin Shull. The seasoned members have their own interest section, called "Tea and Tal."

Showing Interest: It was a time of decision-making for both new and seasoned faculty wives at their afternoon fall reception, as they chose among the club's interest sections. Mrs. C. Robert Hutchcroft (left) signed up for the Red Carpet group with the aid of Mrs. Charles Brumfiel and Mrs. Josef Blatt. For newcomer Mrs. Charles M. Vest it was a time for looking - the decision to join would come later. The Red Carpet section welcomes and entertains wives of visiting faculty members and distinguished campus guests to help make them feel "at home" in Ann Arbor. Other groups include art, books, bridge, dance, drama, garden, home, language, music and sports.

Invitation To The Dance: Members had an opportunity to sign for the series of four faculty-alumni dances planned for the year at Wednesday's reception of the Faculty Women's Club. Coffee, Tea Or... Coffee, tea and an assortment of pastry treats were on the menu as members of the faculty wives group took turns pouring at the refreshment table. Mrs. Joseph T. Hartsook (left) offered coffee to several wives who had just come through the receiving line. Greeting members in the line were Mrs. Frank H. Smith, membership chairman; Mrs. Brymer Williams, club president; Mrs. George J. Huebner Jr., University regent; Mrs. Harlan Hatcher, wife of the U-M president; Mrs. Robben W. Fleming, wife of the University president-designate; Mrs. J. Philip Wernette, club vice-president; and Mrs. G. E. Sharples, newcomer chairman.
