Neal and Marilyn Schroeder of Ann Arbor designed the Bicentennial banner on display at Darlington Lutheran Church, located at 3545 Packard Rd. It is "designed to show the blessed relationship between the church and state in America," said the Rev. Greg Lenz, pastor of the church. It will hang through July 4, he said.

Church Rises: Bricklayers are working on the new Darlington Lutheran Church on Packard Rd., just south of Forestbrooke Estates subdivision. When finished, the church will have seating for 200 and a basement area for classes.
