Medicine bottles and a paint bottle (upper left) were among the artifacts recovered from the chicken coop, which appears to have been a dumping ground for trash from the main house. The Indian artifacts - an unfinished arrowhead and fragments of a clay pipe - were also found there. The butter knife, which had the date 1894 stamped on the back, was found by the horse barn.

Members of the Cobblestone Farm Committee remove old shingles and lay plywood sheeting as part of a project to restore the farm. Rick Neumann, Michael Metaugh (from left), Jan Donaldson and Shirley Goddard prepare the new roofing. Dating back to the 1830s, the farm was purchased by the city as a historic site about a year ago. It also is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located on Packard Road adjacent to Buhr Park.
