Harry Mills of Granger Avenue might be a child's dream of a perfect grandfather...almost as good as a private sugar plum tree. Mr. Mills is an experienced candy maker and his storage room will yield boxes of carefully stored Butter Almond Crunch, Butter Mints, Pecan Balls and Hawaiian fudge for Valentine's gifts. Here Mr. Mills, who is retired from the building and construction business in Ann Arbor, stirs up a batch of his favorite Hawaiian fudge. He loves its unusual mixture of pineapple, ginger and chocolate but finds that many don't share his opinion of the fudge. The other candies are usually made for gifts.
