HANDICRAFT HOUSE: New this year is the log cabin lodge pictured here. Camp Takona girls will use it as headquarters for handicraft work. It also will provide additional space for sleeping quarters. Each of the three two-week camping periods will accommodate a total of 55 girls - most of them will doubtless spend their non-swimming time in the comfort of sport and sweat shirts and the ever-present "blue jeans" shown here.

Hope Springs Eternal: The familiar saying, "March comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb" is the subject of a bulletin board display this month at Eberwhite Elementary School. The first-grader students of Mrs. Thomas Lancaster, Mrs. Norman Koch and Mrs. Erwin Brinkmann helped put together the display which offers hope that the record-breaking winter will soon bow to spring. Above (from left) first-graders Steve Byington, Eva Tramontin and Tommy Zemke admire the lion [this photo] while (from left) Bruce Andrews, Gwen Francy and David Walterhouse watch over the lamb. Early March so far has brought a mixture of lion and lamb weather -- with lion forecast.
