Mary D. Mitchell, the 85-year-old former teacher, principal and superintendent of the old Pittsfield School District No. 9, visits third graders at the school named for her. The youngsters, members of Mrs. Shirley VanderLey's class at Mitchell School, are showing Mrs. Mitchell a collection of newspaper articles and other materials on old Ann Arbor. The retired educator visited the school yesterday where she was introduced to the student body and learned of plans for the school's expansion. Mitchell School is now in the Ann Arbor School District.
