COMMENCEMENT THRONG JAMES FIELD HOUSE: Nearly 3,000 University graduates and their guests filled Yost Field House to capacity Saturday evening for the annual commencement exercises. This photograph, taken just after the graduating class had assembled, shows the degree recipients standing at attention on the floor of the building. As right is the platform where the faculty members and University officials administered commencement rites. Families and friends of the graduates fill the bleachers and balconies around the rim of the Field House. Rain forced the holding of the exercises indoors instead of on Ferry Field.
