NEW SCHOOL NEARS COMPLETION: The public school system's financial crisis will keep the new Lee M. Thurston Elementary School (pictured above) closed this fall. Now nearing completion, the school is located in the Nixon-Plymouth Rd. area. Architect for the project is O'Dell, Hewlett, Luckenbach & Associates of Birmingham. Total cost for the project is about $473,000. Work is said to be on schedule.
