TRAPPED TURTLE: Jack March, an eighth grader at Forsythe Junior High School, holds a 32-pound snapping turtle he caught recently at Bass Lake. At present the turtle is living in a large aquarium in the school's biology room. It may be returned to an outside habitat, however, because of lack of suitable food.

NEW CITY RESIDENTS: These are some of the 18 turtles that hatched a few days ago from eggs planted in sand in early summer by Phil Benzinger of 1495 Kensington Dr., a 16-year-old Ann Arbor High School student. He planted 23 eggs, but opened a couple before they hatched to see how things were developing.
