Chester A. Brown, 25, of 1601 Charlton Ave., started his duties today as a newly-appointed member of the city's fire department. Brown, a veteran of two and a half years' service with the Air Forces during the war, worked at Kaiser-Frazer's Willow Run plant before joining the department. He is married and has one child. His appointment brings the department up to full strength.
