Mystery Blast Rips Candy Shop: Brick and concrete rear wall sections were blown out of the Mary Lee candy shop, 332 S. State St., by an unexplained blast that occurred about 11:45 last night. Alley windows at the rear of the shop, as well as rear windows of neighboring establishments, were shattered by the explosion, which detectives said centered around a spot where pressure-type whipped cream dispensers were kept. Above, Detective Albert Heusel and Officer Ben Ball, of the Ann Arbor police department, examine a portion of the shattered masonry. (Story on page 3)
