Michigan State Troopers Uncover Moonshine In Car During Traffic Stop, September 2, 1958

While operating a radar speed checkpoint Sunday, State Police of the Ypsilanti post stopped a speeding panel truck containing these 48 one-gallon jugs, all but one of them filled with illegal moonshine whisky. The driver of the truck, Moses Jones, 47, of Detroit, was turned over to federal alcohol tax unit agents today for prosecution. Pictured with their surprise "catch" are Troopers Leo J. Heatley (kneeling) and Kenneth L. Yuill.
