ARTIST-COOK: Sunday is the big day for members of Ann Arbor's Potter's Guild...the day of their annual Spring sale. Mrs. Stuart Thayer of Sumac Lane prepares some of her pottery for the sale. Although Marilyn Thayer sells most of her work, she does save some favorite pieces for her own home and garden. This potter frequently uses her pots de creme when serving Chocolate Mocha Cream, a light dessert that is a perfect ending for her Stuffed Manicotti dinner. The Manicotti may be prepared ahead of time.

FINISHED PRODUCTS: Mrs. Stuart Thayer, treasurer of the Potters' Guild, admires a finished piece of pottery from the display area in the guild's new headquarters located at 201 Hill St. The guild's annual spring sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the new location. Proceeds from sales in other years, along with donations, enabled the guild to move from the former site in the 600 block of E. William St. to its more spacious quarters which were remodeled by members.

Always Ready- Wystan Stevens, left, Ann Arbor's new official historian, is never caught without a camera even when he is the focus of attention. Talking over the affair are, left to right, Joseph P. Bianco, Civic affairs director for J.L. Hudson; Robert B. Sanford, manager of Hudson's Briarwood store; Hazel Proctor and Arthur P. Gallagher of the Ann Arbor Historical Foundation, and Marilyn Thayer.
