"INDIAN DANCE" -- This is the name of one of three wind sculptures by Gerome Kamrowski, a retired University of Michigan art professor, on the ground, and Phillip Donovan, a former U of M art student who is sitting in the apple tree with "Indian Dance." Their work, which is installed in Kamrowski's backyard near M-14, was funded by a Michigan Council for the Arts apprenticeship grant. When the wind blows, the patterns spin, sort of like a pinwheel.

Mrs. Gerome Kamrowski of Beechwood Dr. paints with oils and a rolling pin on canvas. Her paintings have won prizes and now hang in several art galleries. It all started with rolled cookies and a carved rolling pin, she says. Now she carves her own, or wraps them with string or rubber insoles.
