"INDIAN DANCE" -- This is the name of one of three wind sculptures by Gerome Kamrowski, a retired University of Michigan art professor, on the ground, and Phillip Donovan, a former U of M art student who is sitting in the apple tree with "Indian Dance." Their work, which is installed in Kamrowski's backyard near M-14, was funded by a Michigan Council for the Arts apprenticeship grant. When the wind blows, the patterns spin, sort of like a pinwheel.

ART WORK -- Gerome Kamrowski views sculptures made by 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders at Angell Elementary School Wednesday. The students made the sculptures from corrugated cardboard cutouts of imaginary animals which were painted and decorated. The art works were hung on frames making a multifaceted sculpture with moving parts reminiscent of Kamrowski's 'Wind Menagerie.' Kamrowski has been on the faculty of the University of Michigan School of Art for 37 years and will retire this year.
