Deacon Richard Garland, along with Kendall Tucker, holding lantern, walk in the 7th annual Unity March that brought out about 400 participants. The march began at the Washtenaw County building in downtown Ann Arbor and ended at Second Baptist Church on 850 Red Oak in Ann Arbor.

'SANTA'S WORKSHOP' DEPICTED: Edmonton Junior and Senior High Schools from Willow Village entetered this float, based on "Santa's Workshop." Six youngsters busily occupied themselves during the parade as elves working on Christmas toys. The traditional parade was sponsored by Ypsilanti area schools and churches and the Board of Commerce.

Sylvia Blake Bynum was born on November 7, 1884 in Cary, North Carolina to John Addison Blake and Mintia Hooker Blake. She married Oliver Bynum in January of 1918 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He passed away in 1929.
