New Altar Is Hand Carved Easter worshippers at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church will view this elaborate hand carved altar from Greece for the first time at tonight's services. The altar, a model of the Holy Sepulcher decorated with symbols from the first, second and third centuries, took a man in Nomikos, Greece, six months to carve. It is made of lindenwood. The Rev. John S. Kamelakis is pastor of the church. Easter orthros will begin at 11 p.m. tonight, the Resurrection service at 11:45 p.m. and Easter Divine Liturgy at 1 a.m. on Sunday.
