Proud owners and their dogs pose with trophies after winning "Pet Circus" competition at Westgate Shopping Center on Saturday. Kevin P. McCollough, 3, and his dog, "Snowball," took honors in the best-dressed phase. With them is Dan McCully, manager of the Kresge Store at the shopping center. Kevin is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel McCollough of 2824 Briarcliff. Winners in the best-trained area were Wendy Walters, 9, and her dog, "Duchess." Wendy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Walters of 311 Glenwood. There were some 40 entries in the animal circus sponsored by the Westgate Merchants Association. The pets included a baby bat, iguana, coati-mondi and stag beetle.

Audrey Lucas was born in 1934 and raised in Ann Arbor where she fondly recalls her school days Jones School. She talks about activities at the Dunbar Center where she had the pleasure of singing at various city events, and some of Ann Arbor's black neighborhoods and businesses. Ms. Lucas worked for the University of Michigan Health System for 47 years, the last 35 before her retirement as a human resources consultant.
