WE'LL BET YOU DON'T KNOW THEIR POSITIONS: Shown in this layout are three players of the Ann Arbor Girls' Softball League. You probably imagine that Doris Gibb, shown directly above, is a catcher--but you are wrong--she's a shortstop and that big mitt she is wearing is an infielder's glove--not a catching mitt. You probably will imagine that Bonnie Cummings, left, is a first baseman and is reaching for a high throw. But again you are wrong--she's a second baseman and is just spearing a line drive. Betty Nordman, shown at the right, might be an outfielder just catching a fly ball--But again you are wrong. She is a first baseman and if you look close you will see that she is touching the sack with her toe. Interest in the girls' league this summer is attracting large crowds to the city parks each Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
