Katon Matthews, 14, of Ann Arbor grinds some coriander to add to a sausage mix at the Cobblestone Farm in Ann Arbor Tuesday afternoon. At right, Stone School instructor John Iler, left, hands over homemade sausage to Matthews, center, and Dan Livingston, 17, to hang in the smokehouse at the farm. Students were learning 19th century food practices and preservation techniques by making sausage and smoking it. They also are working on weed and brush removal in a wooded area and helping amend soil in the circle garden for plants of the 1800s.
