The red, white and blue shoulder patch that Sg.t Carl. E. Isaacson, 19, USMC, wears, tells the story of his service at Guadalcanal with the First Marine Air Wing. The world "Guadalcanal" appears inside the figure. The patch was authorized by a presidential citation of the First Marine Division, and the five white stars depict the Southern Cross. Isaacson is home on leave visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Isaacson, 903 Sunnyside Blvd.
