Prize Rose Producers: These 17 blossoms are from a single three-year-old "Tropicana" tea rose bush at the home of Mrs. Willard J. Frey at 1035 W. Liberty. The bush which was planted for All-America Rose Selection tests, also contained 10 unopened buds at the time these blossoms were picked. Tropicana, winner of the 1963 All-America Award, is the only rose in history to win as many as 13 international awards, and has been hailed by experts as "the miracle rose of the century." Its fluorescent orange-red blossoms have won the top gold medal awards in Spain, Switzerland, England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany and Denmark, as well as in the U.S.
