Precocious Crocus: What gayer way to celebrate Washington's birthday than by picturing the first crocus of the year (so far as we know) in full bloom? It's at the home of Leslie Schwanbeck, 2636 Carmel St. Several callers have also reported seeing the "first" robins around town, although ornithologists say some robins remain here throughout the winter.
