Unusual Plant: This is a large variety of the Amorthophallus, on display in the picture window of the Vernon D. Gornik home, 1124 Vesper Rd. The plant, indigenous to Tibet, East Africa and parts of India and South America, grows in this season at a rate of 4 to 4 1/2 inches per day. Varieties are also growing in the U-M Botanical Gardens.
