Le-Thi-Anh, a native of the Mekong River Delta in Vietnam, is working with the Ann Arbor Chapter of the Committee of Responsibility for war-burned and war-injured Vietnamese children. Her main contribution fo COR's rummage sale Saturday and Sunday at the Gabriel Richard - Newman Center will be shrimp fritters, one of which she's about to taste here. Madame Le will sell deep-fried fritters at the sale, as well as unprepared packages of the flour and ground, dried shrimp mixture, which she imports from her homeland.

These pictures were taken at Lakeside park near Brighton, where the annual girls 4-H summer camp has been held for the past two weeks. The county eliminations were held at camp, and five other girls were named to compete at Lansing in canning and clothing competition.

This fall scene 35 years ago was an annual one as women of Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor, with some occasional make assistance, brought their equipment right into the orchards to make apple butter the old-fashioned way for an orphanage. A farm on Plymouth Rd. was the scene in 1938.
