STUDENT'S SCULPTURE: Scott Merrill (right), a ninth grader at Forsythe Junior High School, describes his metal sculpture, titled "The Pad," for Miss Velma Coyne, Ann Arbor Public Schools visiting teacher who bought the art work from Scott after she saw it on display at the school. Miss Coyne plans to put "The Pad" in the garden at her home. Scott says it took three days in an industrial arts class to make "The Pad" from pieces of scrap metal. It weighs about 65 pounds, he estimates.
