Veteran Who Lost Leg In Germany Sees Dream Come True In Starting Business: First customers for Capt. Philip F. Hanson at his brand new used car lot on Washtenaw Rd. were Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Wirt and their infant daughter. Hanson, shown at the left, a June graduate of the University, lost a leg while leading a tank unit in the Battle of the Bulge. During his five months' stay in a German hospital as a prisoner of war, he often dreamed of some such peactime occupation. The dream of putting his war-won knowledge of motors to business purposes has come true.
