This is Bruin Lake: A million-dollar recreation development program for Bruin Lake in the Pinckney Recreation Area was disclosed this week. News Photographer Dick Kerr pictures the lake from a plane, looking southwest. Numbers mark (1) the site for a proposed day-use area with parking facilities for 900 cars, (2) a public beach, now under construction, which will be part of the day-use area, (3) the Portage Trails Boy Scout Council's camp, (4) privately owned frontage and cottages, (5) locations of three proposed campgrounds with a total of 550 campsites, (6) a proposed boat lagoon and launching area. Not shown is a proposed 60-unit trailer parking area, below the bottom of the picture.

Caravan's Younger Members These children are among a caravan of among 200 persons espousing a new form of spiritualism. The religions cult from San Francisco is camping at the Bruin Lake Campgrounds in Lyndon Township. The group, on a cross country tour, was invited here by Theodore Kachel, director of the U-M Office of Religious Affairs.
