Sea Scout Ship "Trade Wind" On Portage Lake, April 1938

BEFORE THE FRESH WINDS: The Sea Scout Ship "Trade Wind" made its first trial run of the season yesterday at Portage lake with Bos'n's Mate Ronell White, Ordinary Seaman Fred Cowan and Skipper K. C. Marantette putting her through her paces. The "Trade Wind" is a Grand Banks dory purchased at a Boston fish pier. This boat is similar to the one used in the picture "Captains Courageous."
