Gasoline rationing, 1942 Photographer: Eck Stanger
Year:

Published In:
Ann Arbor News, December 19, 1942
Caption:
WHEN GAS RATION REGISTRATION BEGAN: Vanguard of the motorists who must register for gasoline rationing in the Jones school area is shown above. These applicants for A cards were among the first of more than 300 persons who received their A books at Jones school yesterday afternoon and evening. Authorities estimate that about 1,000 motorists will have applied for their cards at Jones school when the rationing registration period ends tomorrow. The lineup is typical of the opening hours of registration at all city schools, but as the afternoon progressed applicants were interviewed almost immediately upon arriving.
