They'll Perform In Jackson Luther Leaguers of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church rehearse the comedy, "Needlework," to be presented at a rally of the Southern District of the Michigan Synod on Sunday in Jackson. Cast members are (standing, form left) Pat Hellner, Barbara Hakala, Mary Ann Wagner and Steve Jewell, and (seated) Bonnie Bentz. The play is set in 1910 in the needlework department of a dry goods store. The women come to "knit, purl and mangle reputations." The complications of gossip are vividly portrayed in the play. The young people presented the play at the annual convention of the Lutheran Church Women of the Michigan Synod in Jackson last month, and will present it next month at Lutheran Haven, a home for the aged. The Rev. Richard I. Preis, Trinity pastor, directs the presentation. Sunday's meeting will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
