Start with a firm base: A bit of waterproof clay and a heavy pin-type "frog" are the only props needed for a tall and graceful arrangement. By making a circle of the clay it will act as a suction cup and there will be no worrying about the arrangement falling over when it's finished.

FLOWER MINIATURE SENT TO MAJOR BOWES: When Major Edward Bowes salutes Ann Arbor at 8 o'clock tonight over the Columbia Broadcasting System, he will have in front of him the distinctive flower arrangement shown in the above photograph. Prepared by Alfred W. Goodhew for the Ann Arbor Citizens' Flower Show committee, to call attention to the exposition to be held here June 1-3, it is a conception in miniature of the famous Ann's arbor. It was sent to New York by special handling over the New York Central Lines through the co-operation of Byron H. Holden, the NYC's local ticket agent.

Snapdragons, daffodils, lilies and grape hyacinths surround the head, with ranunculuses below and coral in the background.
