Reading (left), polio campaign chairman of the school division in the city, and Mrs. Michael Bandrofchak, Linda's mother and a leader of the troop.

Lynette Hellner, (kneeling, left), Carisle Taylot, Lynn Shuverink and Barbara Gamm (from left) are wrapping the special wheelchair. The troop heard about the student's need for a chair and raised $155 with a party at Eberwhite and a donation drive. The special chair allows a person to die down, sit up or recline. Irvin Maynard, manager of the Humane Society of Huron Valley, leads tour of the shelter for members of Girl Scout Troop 674 from Carpenter School. The girls decided they'd like to use proceeds from a money-raising project to aid the shelter but first wanted to observe conditions and the need. So all funds from a Scout-sponsored garage sale, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Monday at 2579 Carlton Dr., will go to the shelter.

The Brownies were presented a citation by Miss McPherson, honoring them for their contribution of 10,000 box-top coupons to help purchase a life-saving kidney machine. Mrs. David Starks of 3 Galoway Ct. is leader of the troop.
