Groundhog Retreats, Snow Comes The groundhog dutifully emerged in yesterday's sunshine, easily spotted his shadow and beat a hasty retreat into his hole. Hours later an overnight snowfall began giving a picturesque coating to the University main campus (above) and the rest of Southeastern Michigan with 2 1/2 inches of snow, apparently part of the six more weeks of winter summoned by the cowardly groundhog.
