Edith Grindstaff After Her First Hair Cut In 17 Years, July 26, 1954
Year:
1954
Published In:
Ann Arbor News, July 26, 1954
Caption:
For the first time in 17 years, Edith Grindstaff of 1309 Jones Dr. had her hair cut Saturday. Just before the fateful snipping (left) Edith's hair, measuring about 32 inches, reached almost to her fingers. At right, is the finished, shortened product with the hair, braided one last time before it was cut, held in her lap. Edith, a 20-year-old senior at Michigan State Normal College, refused to have her hair cut as a child because her grandfather, of whom she was very fond, liked it long. Edith is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Grindstaff.
