HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Twelve-year-old Lena Lou Sturgill, a Girl Scout of Troop Seven at the Rackham School of Special Education in Ypsilanti, receives a piece of the Girl Scout national birthday cake from United Air Lines stewardess, Florence McCabe. The piece of cake, flown from Los Angeles yesterday, was presented to the troop in honor of its help during the past year to hunger-stricken children of Europe. Lena, who suffered an attack of infantile paralysis several years ago and her fellow troop members, all physically handicapped, were taken on a tour of the Mainliner by Capt. W. L. Fagen, nearest the door, and First Officer Price Downey.

She plans to dispel the superstitious gloom of Friday the 13th - made all the more ominous by the simultaneous occurrence of her 13th birthday - with a slumber party on a "good luck" theme at her home. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Reynolds and a seventh grade student at Forsythe Junior High.

The parents, Dr. and Mrs. Frank W. Comstock of 3139 Baylis Dr., Pittsfield township, have five other youngsters. The triplets weighed a total of almost 21 pounds at birth.
