The kitchen in the old Allmendinger family home at 719 W. Washington St. has seen many of the delicate coffee cakes, Kugelhopf, turned out from round copper molds. Mrs. William F. Murray, the former Julia Allmendinger, now makes the coffee cakes for her grandsons the same way her mother made them for her when the house was new.
