CENTURY-OLD LELAND HOME ON E. NORTH TERRITORIAL RD.: Landmark in the Northfield township area is the Leland home at 3850 E. North Territorial, residence of former Judge Emory E. Leland and now occupied by his son, C. R. Leland, and wife. White barns in the rear set off the graceful old residence. The land on which they are located was taken up from the government by Judge Leland's father, Joshua G. Leland, in 1831 and this home was built a few years later.
